Gantry-Mounted Adjustable Stabilizer for XR6 & XR12 CNC Rotary Cutters

Overview

The 4" Square Stabilizer is a versatile gantry-mounted attachment designed for cutting square tubing, rectangular tubing, and angle iron. This infinitely adjustable stabilizer handles material from ½" up to 4" and shares the same center height as the Round Tube Stabilizer, allowing for quick changeover between stabilizer types without readjusting the chuck height.

Functionality & Features

Adjustable Roller System

The stabilizer uses four precision rollers that can be positioned anywhere within the working envelope. Each roller has two mounting positions:

  • Inner position: for ½" to 2" material
  • Outer position: for 2" to 4" material

The included gauge set allows for quick, repeatable setup to any size within the range.

Angle Iron Configuration

Dual Configuration for Angle Iron

The stabilizer includes special adapter rollers for cutting angle iron. These inside rollers support the angle iron from within, while the standard rollers support the outside faces.

This configuration prevents edge wear on the rollers and provides superior stability compared to supporting angle iron on its edges.

Quick Changeover

The Square Stabilizer shares the same center height as the Round Tube Stabilizer, allowing you to swap between the two without readjusting the chuck position. An adjustable bump stop on the stabilizer ensures consistent positioning every time it's installed.

Note: For precise orientation of square and rectangular tubing, use the jig plate in conjunction with the stabilizer. The jig plate ensures the workpiece remains perfectly square throughout rotation, which is especially important for drilling operations.
